Instructions for use
Urine test:
- Collect your (morning) urine in the provided collection cup.
- Open the cap of the Reaction Cup.
- Pipette 5 ml of the collected urine into the Reaction Cup.
- Open the buffer bottle and pour the liquid into the Reaction Cup.
- Use the dropper to mix urine and buffer 10 times clockwise.
- Remove the test cassette from its packaging.
- Open the bottom of the cassette lid so each strip is visible.
- Place the bottom of the test cassette gently into the Reaction Cup ensuring each strip is submerged in buffer.
- The solution will travel across the strip, moving from the T-line to the C-line.
- Read results after 10–15 minutes.
HIV & Syphilis test:
- Remove the outer packaging and place the cassette flat with the sample window facing upwards.
- Use the lancet provided to obtain a few drops of finger-prick blood.
- Using the pipette, draw 3 drops (approx. 80–100 µl) and release them vertically into the sample well. Avoid bubbles.
- Add 1 drop of reagent into the marked opening.
- Read the result after 10–15 minutes.
Symptoms
Common STI symptoms
If you’re using the 10-in-1 STI test to check for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Trichomonas, Mycoplasma (MH & MG), Candida, Ureaplasma, Gardnerella, Syphilis and HIV, it’s important to be aware of the usual signs and symptoms. Here’s a brief overview of what to look out for:
- Chlamydia: Abnormal discharge, pain when urinating, discomfort during sex, testicular pain.
- Gonorrhoea: Heavy discharge, burning sensation when urinating, genital pain, sore throat.
- Trichomonas: Itching or burning in the genitals, unusual discharge, pain during sex.
- Mycoplasma Genitalium (MG): Often no symptoms, but may cause urethritis in men, discharge and pelvic pain.
- Mycoplasma Hominis (MH): Often symptomless, linked to pelvic inflammatory disease and postnatal fever.
- Candida (Thrush): Itching, thick white discharge, redness and swelling of the vagina and vulva.
- Ureaplasma: Often no symptoms, may cause urethritis, cervicitis and pelvic inflammatory disease.
- Gardnerella (Bacterial vaginosis): Fishy-smelling discharge, itching, burning sensation while urinating.
- HIV: Can cause flu-like symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, headaches and swollen lymph nodes.
- Syphilis: Often small, firm and painless sores at the site of infection (penis, vagina, anus, mouth).
Remember: many infections can occur without noticeable symptoms. That’s why regular testing with the 10-in-1 STI test is vital for early detection and treatment.
When should I test?
Naturally, you’ll want answers quickly. But every STI has what’s known as a window period the time between infection and when a test can reliably detect it. For accurate results, it’s best not to test too early.
This kit comes in two parts:
Part 1: Blood test (for HIV and Syphilis)
Part 2: Urine test (for all other STIs).
This allows you to test at two different times. For the most reliable results, we recommend testing after 4 weeks.
For the most common STIs, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, we also offer a rapid test which can be used after 14 days. If you don’t want to wait 4 weeks, we advise ordering this additional test.

Looking at sensitivity and specificity, the accuracy of this rapid test is very high.
Sensitivity refers to the percentage of correct positive results in infected individuals. Specificity refers to the percentage of correct negative results in people without infection.
